What I've learned...

I've learned quite a few things this semester but the most I've learned was through my Introduction to Multimedia course. The top three things I took out of the course were as follows:  Photoshop: Before starting this semester I had used photoshop maybe twice in my life. But this course taught me quite a bit more about the program other than using it as a knock off microsoft paint. I figured out how to edit my photos to erase insecurities on my face that I had been having my good friend Dayna erase for years. I figured out how to create advertisements in the application as well.  Audition: This program, I didn't even know existed when I was in high school. I figured out the world of editing audio, while I may not be a professional at erasing background noise just yet, I figured out that clipping down audio was not as difficult as I thought it was.  Premiere: I had worked previously with audition before but I didn't get as good of a grasp on it as I have now. Coming tonight!  A new exclusive interview with Charger Bulletin's Sportscaster Cameron Hailey. What may look like an informal interview between two friends, is a quite exciting, informative interview between colleagues on the world of the news station of University of New Haven. Come pull up a chair and get some insights on the behind the scenes aspects of the charger bulletin news.

Adobe Premiere!

What I've Learned:  With the time I've spent in the TV studio back in high school, we did practice a lot with adobe premiere. Here are a few things that I've learned:  You can use media browsers to insert clips into your project.  You can create as many title sequences as you see fit. Just create a series of markers where you want the titles to go and they will insert automatically.  You can arrange your own clips in a sequence without leaving any gaps.

Camera Angles and Characterization

Camera Angles:  Low Angles:  Typically a character shown from a low angle is seen as a superior or a bully.  It doesn't always mean they are a bully, it could mean they are a confident character.  It gives power to the character in the scene, especially if other characters they interact with are shot at higher angles.  High Angles:  Typically a character shot at this angel is projected as an innocent, or a child.  With these different angles you can also fool the audience. For example Lord of the Rings Gollum was originally shot at a higher angle making the audience view him as something that he was not. However, the angles lower as his true character is revealed.  Stay tuned for more blog updates as I will be conducting a video interview with the news anchor for the Charger Bulletin News Channel!
